Tyre was a fantastic skater killed by the police. Skating was a segregated sport that even jocks didn’t touch growing up. It was a realm of punks and skaters. Whenever I would notice a black person skating, it always stuck with me. When Tyre’s death became national news, who he was as a person stuck with me, too.
